When a large number of signal channels have to be monitored continuously, conventional solutions quickly reach their limits. Either the channel count is very limited, or signal analysis takes too long, so monitoring cannot run permanently or only at reduced speed.
Our SSV FlexRIO module provides seamless real-time monitoring of 16 channels per card. Signal analysis takes place directly on the card, without exchanging data with the host system. The monitoring program retrieves the current measurements and error entries only when needed.
Technical description
Each card has independent, combinable triggers per channel. Each channel can define up to ten monitoring windows with up to six real-time tests. Each function also stores the number of errors found until the next query. When an error occurs, a screenshot of all signals around the fault location (pre- and post-samples) is buffered until it is retrieved.
A user-friendly editor makes it easy to edit and test channel, trigger and analysis settings. It also serves as a manual test interface when needed. With programming interfaces for LabVIEW, ActiveX and Microsoft .NET, the system can be integrated into virtually any application (e.g. NI TestStand, NI LabVIEW, Agilent TestExec SL, VBScript).
